Agent Evidence

party_role

Term URI: https://w3id.org/agent-evidence/vocab/v1/party_role

Section: evidence_dimensions. Criticality: critical.

The role a named party holds with respect to one evidence set: the party the evidence is about (audited_provider), the party that assessed it (auditing_organisation), the party that decides admission on the strength of it (evaluating_authority), a peer party entitled to object to that decision without having seen the system (reviewing_authority), and the party that publishes the resulting entry and its withdrawal (registry_operator). The five spellings are borrowed verbatim in sense from the instrument cited below, because a role vocabulary is worth nothing if each reader translates it. One party MAY hold two roles in one exchange and a record declaring that MUST say so by carrying the party twice; a verifier MUST NOT read two roles as two parties. A record declaring independence between two roles held by one party is malformed, and that is the whole reason the roles are enumerated.
