Whether every input a claim depends on was obtained at a vantage the executed artifact could neither forge nor suppress (substrate, meaning a network boundary, syscall supervision, a hypervisor's read of guest state), or whether the claim rests on artifacts the executed party could have influenced (artifact). Composes by weakest input: a claim derived from a mix of substrate and artifact observations inherits artifact. A consumer with no policy-pinned substrate root MUST treat every substrate-vantage row as unattested and MUST NOT infer the root from the claim itself (no trust-on-first-use).
